From solar house systems and solar powered sand abstraction to agrovoltaics, drip irrigation, and remote monitoring solutions, we bring practical expertise, genuine innovation, and an unwavering commitment to value for money to every project we undertake.
Riltex Investments was founded by Ekron Nyoni, a development professional with 27 years of experience in rural development acquired through working as a manager for NGOs in Zimbabwe and travelling extensively across Africa studying development projects. During his career, Ekron witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of unreliable energy and water supply on rural communities — from diesel powered grinding mills and water pumps that broke down within 2 years due to shortage of spares, to women carrying 20 litre buckets of water up the escarpment of the Zambezi River for distances of 2 to 4 kilometres.
It was these experiences that inspired the formation of Riltex Investments in 2011, following the founder’s engagement by an NGO to carry out a feasibility study on a cold spring to supply water to a remote area of Lubu, Binga. Witnessing the hardship of communities fetching water from a spring at the bottom of a hill and carrying it up the escarpment to their homes, the vision for Riltex was born — to provide sustainable, affordable, and practical solar powered solutions that reduce the burden of fetching water, improve access to clean energy, and drive sustainable economic development across Zimbabwe and Africa.
